Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique of Eastern origin that forms part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves inserting very fine needles at specific points on the body, with the aim of regulating physiological functions, relieving pain and supporting the overall balance of the body.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, vital energy (Qi) flows through the body along channels called meridians. When that flow is disrupted, discomfort or illness can appear. Acupuncture seeks to restore that balance by stimulating specific points.
From a present-day perspective, acupuncture:
Drawing on traditional Chinese medicine, with a present-day approach, acupuncture seeks to support the body's capacity for self-regulation, ease symptoms and improve quality of life in a gentle, non-invasive way.
Acupuncture is always adapted to each woman's individual needs and can be safely combined with conventional medical treatment.
It does not replace gynaecological follow-up or any medical treatment. It acts as a therapeutic complement, helping the body to regain balance and wellbeing.
